Dear all,
we are looking for a PhD candidate, starting in October this year (duration three years) working on an ontology-based multi-scaled Functional-Structural Plant Model (FSPM) of greenhouse tomato, with an ambition to develop a Digital Twin. The project is financed for three years by Institut Agro, and we can offer a gross monthly salary of 2100€. This is an exciting opportunity to work on an interdisciplinary topic, doing model development and experimentation, in a highly dynamic research team that is working on a broad range of cutting edge topics such as image analysis, virtual plants and deep learning.
Angers, which has hosted the ISHS international conference on horticulture in 2022, is a buzzing city with a long tradition in horticulture, fruit production and wine making, and is situated in one of the most beautiful regions of France, the Loire valley with its castles, vineyards, parks and gardens, and its proverbial mild climate.
Interested candidates should contact us by mail, ideally sending a cover letter and their CV well before the official deadline (17 May) so that we can help with the application procedure.
Candidates will be shortlisted for an interview by the graduate school (ED VAAME). The application procedure is largely in French, but we will assist you with it. Further information on the position can be found here:
