Hello everyone,
I was wondering if you know if there are classes of FSPM around Europe. As a Post Doc with a background in plant science, I am keen to enhance my informatics and coding skills. Do you know if some practical classes exist?

Hello Francesca,
at Angers University as well as Institut Agro Rennes-Angers, I am giving classes at Master level on FSPM based on the GroIMP platform (and R), and I suppose this will be similar at Institut Agro Montpellier, where Benoît Pallas is giving classes on modelling using OpenAlea. The problem will be that in order to attend these classes you’ll have to register as a Master student. This being said, I am currently working at an online version of my basic FSPM course (with practical exercices), but can’t tell when they’ll be available and under which conditions.

Hi Francesca,
I gave a one week lecture on how to build virtual plants using L-systems (in LPy) in 2022 that was filmed. I don’t know if this may answer completely your request, but at least you can check if it helps.

Dear prof @godin ,
The material you shared about L-py is awesome and much needed - thank you a lot.
In this forum, we still miss a proper description of the Openalea category (About the Openalea category) and would be great if there could be a post akin to " A beginner's guide to GroIMP " but focused on openAlea. Would you mind taking care of it?

May I second this BIG THANK YOU to Dr. Godin @godin !! Not only do I feel more confident to try using L-Py now (at lecture 10 currently), but I feel a huge appreciation for the history of L-Systems and how all of the other variations (GroIMP, etc) grew out from it.
