The in silico Plants (isP) journal is launching a new article type that can be used for teaching plant models, tools and platforms to those unfamiliar with modelling.
Methods for Plant Modeling papers present new or existing software, computational models, platforms, languages, and other tools that can be used to advance crop improvement and/or the understanding of plant processes with sufficient information to be used for teaching purposes. Articles must include an abstract (max 250 words), introduction to what is being modeled, and other sections including a description of model structure, major assumptions, critical equations used and step-by-step instructions for scientists who have no prior experience using your model. The article must also include one or more use cases and may include an appendix of abbreviations. An executable version of the model along with documentation needs to be made accessible freely to the academic research community at the time of review and after publication. Including the source code of the package is preferable, but not mandated.
