Hey all, after some discussion I realise that one of the most important feature about having this discourse is rather unclear: centralising discussions about software here (or anything else, but software is particularly important in this community).
So, I propose we encourage our users and developers to communicate via the forum as much as possible. Whenever we receive a question that is not coming via the forum, we should kindly ask the person to post it on the forum instead. By doing so, we can ensure that the knowledge and solutions shared will be accessible to everyone in the community, and not just a select few.
Additionally, using the forum as our primary means of communication will help us to build a stronger and more collaborative community. We can engage in more meaningful discussions, exchange ideas and expertise, and learn from one another. It will also help to reduce the amount of time and effort spent on answering the same questions repeatedly.
Of course, it’s important to explain the benefits of using the forum and why we are encouraging this shift in communication. By doing so, we can ensure that everyone understands the importance of this pledge and how it will benefit our community as a whole.
@Michele_Butturini already gave the idea that software developers may (or should) add a link to the forum visible from the help of the software, which is a fantastic idea.
So, let’s make a commitment to use the forum as our primary means of communication and encourage others to do the same. Together, we can build a stronger and more vibrant community that fosters learning and growth for everyone involved.
