Riemannian L-systems: Growing forms in curved spaces

We would like to share a recent presentation by Christophe Godin on Riemannian L-systems in the FSPM discussion group of Wageningen University, with the author’s permission.

Riemannian L-systems are an extended L-system formalism that allows to model growing forms in curved spaces, including vein patterns and branching structures.

Christophe Godin is a senior researcher at Inria in France and head of the Mosaic (Morphogenesis: Simulations and Analysis in silico) research team in Lyon. He has been working on mathematical and computational models to study biological forms and architecture and development of plants for over 30 years.
